Common questions
Things patients
usually ask.
If your question isn't here, send us a message or call the clinic. We answer most messages within the same day. The questions below are the ones we hear most often — answered honestly, including the parts most clinics won't say out loud.
Booking & Visits
You can book through our website (the Book a Consultation page), by calling (02) 8888 1234, by messaging us on Instagram or Facebook, or by walking in — though walk-ins may wait 1–2 hours for an opening. First-time patients must book a skin reading (45 minutes, ₱2,000) before any treatment. Returning patients can book directly.
For Dr. Marasigan, 2–3 weeks in advance. For Dr. Villanueva and Dr. Alcantara, 1–2 weeks. We keep a small number of same-day slots for urgent concerns — call the clinic in the morning and we'll do our best to fit you in.
A government-issued ID, your HMO card if you have one (we accept selected HMOs for medical dermatology consultations), and a list of any skincare products you're currently using — photos on your phone are fine. If you have prior biopsy reports or dermatology records, bring those too. No need to wear makeup-free; we'll cleanse if needed.
Yes, free of charge, with at least 24 hours' notice. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged 50% of the consultation fee for first-time patients, and may require prepayment for future bookings. We're reasonable about emergencies — call us.
Yes, but we can't promise a short wait. Walk-ins are slotted between scheduled appointments. If you can, call ahead — even an hour's notice helps us fit you in without a long wait.
Pricing & Payment
A 45-minute skin reading with any of our dermatologists is ₱2,000. This fee is deductible from any treatment you proceed with within 30 days. Pediatric dermatology consultations are ₱3,000. Follow-up consultations (under 20 minutes) are ₱1,000.
We accept selected HMOs (Maxicare, Intellicare, Medicard) for medical dermatology consultations only — not for aesthetic treatments. Please confirm with your HMO that Dilag is in-network before your visit. HMO coverage does not include the ₱2,000 skin reading fee for first-time aesthetic patients.
Cash, bank transfer, GCash, Maya, Visa, Mastercard, JCB, and American Express. For treatments above ₱20,000, we offer two-installment plans (60% on day one, 40% at the midpoint of a multi-session treatment). We do not offer third-party financing.
We publish price ranges for most treatments. Final pricing depends on the area treated, the depth, the number of sessions, and the specific products used. We'd rather give you an honest price after seeing your skin than a misleading one before. You will always know the full cost before any treatment begins — never after.
Treatments & Results
No. We do not sell packages on the first visit. If a treatment is best done as a series, we'll tell you — and we'll tell you the per-session price as well as the package price, so you can decide freely. Our doctors are salaried, not commissioned. They have no financial incentive to recommend more than you need.
It depends on the concern. Acne programs run 12 weeks. Pigmentation, 3–6 months. Anti-aging effects of retinoids and lasers accumulate over 6–12 months. Quick fixes exist — botulinum toxin, fillers — but most meaningful skin improvement is slow. We'll be honest about timelines at your consultation.
Yes, with the right settings. Filipino skin (Fitzpatrick III–V) is more prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation than lighter skin types, which means we use conservative laser settings, pre-treat with tyrosinase inhibitors, and insist on strict sun protection. All three of our dermatologists are Filipino, trained in the Philippines, and experienced with Filipino skin specifically.
We take clinical photographs for every patient who begins a treatment program — these are for your records and for tracking progress objectively. We do not publish before/after photos on our website or social media without explicit written consent, and we never use them as marketing. If you'd like to see examples of our work, we can show you anonymized cases during your consultation.
Skin treatments aren't entirely predictable, and honest clinics acknowledge this. If you're unhappy with a result, come back. We'll assess honestly — sometimes results just need more time, sometimes a different approach is needed. We do not charge for follow-up assessments related to a treatment you've already paid for.

Yes, for medical dermatology follow-ups and for patients outside Metro Manila. We use a secure video platform. Teleconsults are not appropriate for first visits (we need to see your skin in person) or for any treatment that requires physical examination. ₱1,500 per session.
Of course. We encourage patients to bring a partner, parent, or friend to consultations if it helps them feel comfortable or remember what was discussed. For minors, a parent or guardian must be present. We ask that companions step out during physical examinations if you prefer.
Skincare & Products
We carry a small selection of medical-grade products we prescribe regularly — sunscreens, retinoids, cleansers, and barrier creams from brands like Epionce, SkinMedica, and our own Dilag-formulated basics. We do not carry retail brands you'd find at Watsons or Sephora. You are never required to buy products from us — we'll give you a list of alternatives that work.
Yes, please bring it. Photographs of the product labels are fine. We'll tell you what's working, what isn't, what's redundant, and what might be causing problems. Many patients are using five products when two would do — and the simplification alone improves their skin.
Yes — that's a significant part of what we do. Filipino skin has particular considerations: higher melanin (more prone to hyperpigmentation), often oilier in the T-zone due to humidity, sometimes more reactive to strong actives. We recommend formulations that work with these characteristics, not against them.
